|On Thursday July 30th the Legion Honor Guard rendered funeral honors for U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, James "Jim" Jackson. Jim was also a long time Post 216 member.The ceremony was held at the Legion Hall. The team acted as pall bearers, and provided the rifle salute. MSG Rector's team conducted the flag ceremony and Taps. The Legion Rifle Team consisted of Rich Chowaniec (Commanding); Eric Baker; Ron Nevorski; Dave Horst; Chuck Bowman: Lance Oberg; Skip Davison and Bob Godwin. The Legion Color Guard consisted of Nortie Caswell; Ike Eickholdt; Percy Duncan; Don Stevenson and AMVETS member Larry Shaver.

Jim was preceded in death by his son, Michael Lee.
In addition to his beloved wife, Marie (nee Deckard), he is survived by his son, Larry (Karen); daughters, Vicki (John) Pilotti, Linda (Butch) Maxwell; grandchildren, Sheila Maxwell, Nathan Pokowski, Rachel Jackson, Clayton Maxwell; brother, Ronald (Jan); numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and several dear friends, including his longtime friends at the Detroit Police Department, Milford American Legion and Highland Moose Lodge.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 East Liberty, Milford on Thursday, July 30 at 11AM with the Rev. Dr. R. John Harris officiating. Military Honors will follow at the Milford American Legion. Friends may visit at the Funeral Home on Wednesday 5-9PM. American Legion service Wednesday evening.
